The North Central Swimming & Diving Team turned in outstanding top-to-bottom performances on Tuesday at the Panther Invitational, posting comfortable wins for both the girls and boys. The Panther girls used superior depth to outdistance runner-up Brebeuf (908-414) with Bishop Chatard and Heritage Christian in third and fourth. The boys easily outdistanced runner-up Chatard (664-312) with Brebeuf and Heritage rounding out the field.
The Panther girls were led by sophomore Emily Buening, a double winner on day. Buening led a 1-2-3 sweep of the 200 Freestyle with freshman Madelyn Harvey and junior Reagan Shaar and led a 1-2 sweep of the 100 Freestyle with junior Eleanor Reno. Reno picked up an individual win of her own in the 200 IM as did seniors Alani Hightower (100 Backstroke) and Emma Horton (100 Breaststroke) and sophomore Bridget Collins, who led a 1-2-3 sweep of the 100 Butterfly with sophomore Lily Wolfe and junior Aisha Tashpulatova. Harvey and Shaar teamed with junior Kate Peterson and sophomore Dillon Horsley for first place in the 400 Freestyle Relay.
