The North Central Swimming & Diving Team celebrated the Class of 2020 on Saturday with some impressive racing, splitting a decision against state powerhouse Homestead on Senior Day. The Panther girls finished their dual meet season with a 6-2 record thanks to a hard fought 95-91 victory over the Spartans while the boys fell to 4-4 on the season with a 121-63 defeat.
Seniors were critical to the girls victory with Meggie McPherson having a hand in three wins on the day while Claudia Buddenbaum, Sally Jones and Grace Lough were double winners. All four seniors teamed to win the meet’s first event, the 200 Medley Relay. Lough and Buddenbaum took the top two spots in the 50 Freestyle while McPherson and Jones went 1-2 in the 100 Backstroke. McPherson also won the 100 Butterfly. Buddenbaum and Lough were joined by juniors Alani Hightower and Emma Horton on the winning 200 Freestyle Relay. And freshman Emily Buening touched the wall first in the 500 Freestyle.
