The North Central Swimming & Diving Team split a pair of decisions on Tuesday night against MIC rival Center Grove. The Panther girls upped their season dual meet record to 5-2 with a 127-59 win while the boys (4-3) fell to a strong Trojan team 136.5-43.5.
The girls won 11 of 12 events and swept the top two places in seven events on their way to a dominating victory. Seniors Claudia Buddenbaum and Meggie McPherson led the charge as quadruple winners including impressive relay performances, helping the Panthers sweep all three relay events. Buddenbaum and McPherson teamed with seniors Sally Jones and Grace Lough to win the 200 Medley Relay; Buddenbaum, Jones and Lough teamed with junior Emma Horton to win the 200 Freestyle Relay and Buddenbaum, Horton and McPherson were joined by freshman Keira Kask on the winning 400 Freestyle Relay.
Buddenbaum (100 Freestyle) and McPherson (50 Freestyle & 100 Backstroke) took home individual firsts in their respective events as did Horton (200 Freestyle), Jones (100 Butterfly) and Lough (100 Breaststroke) who were triple winners on the night. Kask was a double winner, adding a first place in the 500 Freestyle to her relay win. And freshman Emily Buening added a first place in the 200 IM.
