On Saturday afternoon NC Girls Rugby soundly defeated division foe Warsaw by a score of 47-10. The Panthers controlled the ball most of the match and handled the pressure and hard tackling of Warsaw to remain undefeated on the season. NC won the rucks and controlled the pace of the game while setting up some great break away scores. Leading the way for the panthers was Senior Tay O’Neal with two hard fought Trys and Junior Shaianne McGruder with two break away Trys. Also scoring for NC was Tamera Anthony, Libby Moser, and Nyzeria Neely. Liz Reyes went 5 for 6 on conversion kicks to add 12 points to the score. Players of the Match went to Captain Taylor Driver for really stepping up her game and making some great tackles, and Freshman Taylor Powell for always being in the rucks and never letting up. Way to go Panthers! Next up for NC is Ft. Wayne Carroll on Saturday at home at noon.
In the JV match, Warsaws experience showed and they came away with the victory. NC is continuing to grow and show improvement in each and every match they play. Player of the match went to Breanna Brooks for her great tackles, aggressive play, and leadership.
