On Saturday afternoon the NC Girls Varsity Rugby team took on the defending Division 1 state champs Ft. Wayne Carroll and defeated them by a score of 57-22. The victory completed the undefeated season for the Panthers as they prepare for the state tournament ranked #1 in Super League. North Central used a combination of quick rucking and power running to defeat the Chargers. 7 different Panthers scored in the match and the team went 6 for 8 on conversion kicks. Players of the Match went to Liz Reyes for her intelligent play, leadership on the field and intensity every single minute and Margret Parrott for her strength in the pack, her strong runs knocking people over and her hard hitting tackles.
The Panthers want to thank their 10 Seniors for their leadership and dedication this season – Nicole Juarez Teles, Yvette Rivera Martinez, Maria Roque, Layla Mitiche, Selina Elijio Martinez, Libby Moser, Nia Rogers, Tay Neal, Grace Bolten and Maddie Caughlan- you are all amazing!

The JV team lost a tough match to Carroll by a score of 27-37. The entire team played well and again improved from last match. Leading the scoring for the Panthers was Astrid Contreras with 3 trys. Grace Bolten and Maria Roque also scored for NC. Next up for JV is against Noblesville on Wednesday.

The State Tournament begins on Saturday May 25th in Columbus with the Finals in Elkhart on May 27th, Good Luck Ladies!
