The North Central Swimming & Diving team turned in a solid performance over the weekend at the MIC Championships. Both the boys and girls finished in third place behind Carmel and runner-up Center Grove.

The Panther boys were led by sophomore Brody Friend who was the MIC runner-up in the 100 Freestyle and added a fourth place finish in the 200 Freestyle. Sophomore Colin Parker finished fourth in the 50 Freestyle and 100 Butterfly. Fifth place finishes were turned in by Junior Carsyn Christoffel (50 Freestyle & 100 Breaststroke), sophomore Johnny Marshall (100 Butterfly) and freshman David Diercks (200 IM). Freshman Carter Brames finished sixth in the 100 Breaststroke. Seniors Michael Goetz (200 IM) and Brooks Hillenbrand (200 & 500 Freestyle) and Diercks (100 Backstroke) picked up seventh place finishes. And sophomores Nick Baltz (Diving) and Chance Buckles (500 Freestyle) picked up eighth place finishes. Christoffel, Friend, Hillenbrand and Parker were MIC runners-up in the 200 Freestyle Relay. The 200 Medley Relay team of Brames, Buckles, Christoffel and Goetz and the 400 Freestyle Relay team of senior Yana Footman, Friend, Hillenbrand and Parker finished in third place.
