The North Central Boys Swimming & Diving Team wrapped up it’s dual meet season with a close contest with MIC rival Lawrence North. The boys fought hard in a nip and tuck battle, eventually falling to the Wildcats 95-85. The Panthers finish their dual meet season with a 2-6 record.
Seniors Peter LaBarge and Logan Parker were both triple winners on the evening. LaBarge won the 50 & 100 Freestyle and Parker took first place in the 200 IM and 100 Backstroke. LaBarge and Parker teamed with juniors Tyler Diercks and Sam Nemeth to win the 200 Medley Relay.
The Panthers received runner-up finishes from Diercks (100 Breaststroke), sophomores Michael Goetz (100 Butterfly) and Brooks Hillenbrand (200 Freestyle) and freshman Thomas Garrard (Diving). Diercks, Hillenbrand and Nemeth teamed with freshman Carsyn Christoffel for second place in the 200 Freestyle Relay. Hillenbrand, LaBarge, Parker and senior Jacob Ruschhaupt finished second in the 400 Freestyle Relay.
The Panther boys return to action on February 14 & 16 at the IHSAA Sectional Championships at Lawrence North.
