The North Central Swimming & Diving Team celebrated the Class of 2020 on Saturday with some impressive racing, splitting a decision against state powerhouse Homestead on Senior Day. The Panther girls finished their dual meet season with a 6-2 record thanks to a hard fought 95-91 victory over the Spartans while the boys fell to 4-4 on the season with a 121-63 defeat.
Sophomore Carsyn Christoffel (200 Freestyle) and freshman Brody Friend (50 Freestyle) each picked up a win versus the Spartans and teamed with senior Dimitar Donovski and freshman Johnny Marshall for second place in the 400 Freestyle Relay. Friend and Marshall teamed with senior Tyler Diercks and freshman Colin Parker for second in the 200 Medley Relay. Christoffel, Diercks and Parker teamed with senior Sam Nemeth for second in the 200 Freestyle Relay. Diercks (100 Breaststroke) and Marshall (200 IM) each added individual runner-up finishes.
The Panthers will return to action on Saturday, February 1 at the JV Invitational at Lawrence North. Diving competition begins at 11am with swimming at 1pm.
