The North Central Boys & Girls Swimming & Diving teams successfully opened their seasons last night, picking up convincing wins over MIC rival Pike. The girls outpaced the Red Devils 131-55 while the boys won by a margin of 128-42.
The Panther boys were led by freshmen Brody Friend and Colin Parker who were both quadruple winners. Individually, Friend won the 50 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke and Parker won the 200 IM and 100 Freestyle. Friend and Parker teamed with classmates Chance Buckles and Johnny Marshall to win the 200 Medley Relay. Friend teamed with seniors Tyler Diercks and Sam Nemeth and junior Carsyn Christoffel to win the 400 Freestyle Relay. And Parker teamed with Christoffel, Diercks (double winner) and junior Brooks Hillenbrand to win the 200 Freestyle Relay.
Christoffel was a triple winner for the night, adding an individual win in the 200 Freestyle to his relay success. Nemeth was a double winner, touching first in the 500 Freestyle to pair with his relay victory.
The Panther boys and girls return to action on Saturday, November 30, hosting the Columbus North Bullfrogs at 10am and the North Central HS Natatorium.
